What is chemical peeling?

• It is a method of removing the upper and medium layer of the skin

• A peeling agent is applied to the skin

• This results in controlled destruction of the superficial skin with subsequent skin renewal

What can I expect during a chemical peel?

• You may feel a tingling or stinging sensation. It is usually mild and you may get some blotchy redness.

• There will be some redness which lasts for a few hours.

• Occasionally, very mild flaking of the skin may occur.

• Thereafter, the skin returns to normal.

How many treatments do I need?

For best results, peels have to be repeated.

Most patients require a total of 4-6 peels at monthly intervals.
